For best results add an appropriate solvent or water to the surface being cleaned, place the ScrapeRite into standard holder and scrape using appropriate pressure. Orange | General Purpose Blades | GPO - 9 bladesThese blades are manufactured using a Delrin blend of material and is the softest of all compounds. Having the consistency of your fingernail, it is relatively safe on just about any surface. For example, this blade can typically be used directly on the surface of the paint or plastic on your car without damage or scratching. Always check in an inconspicuous area to ensure scratch free scraping. This is the most chemical resistant compound, it will resist just about anything. Blue | Polycarbonate Blades | PCB - 7 bladesThese blades are manufactured using a Lexan, or polycarbonate, blend of material and is the toughest and most ductile of all compounds. This blade will maintain its edge for a longer period of time than the other blades but may scratch very delicate surfaces. For example, this blade may scratch the paint on the car and other plastics but is ideal for use on uneven surfaces like unpainted aluminum or fiberglass materials. When used with acetone, these blades will soften and turn milky with repeated use. The will work fine with most household cleaners. Yellow | Acrylic Blades | ACY - 9 bladesThese blades are manufactured using a Plexiglass, or acrylic, blend of raw materials and is the most rigid and most brittle. It has the least ductility but will remain flat against tough debris like paint spatter, where another compound may bend its way over it rather than pop it loose. The blade may chip or even break if used on rough surfaces. This blade is ideal on hard flat surfaces like glass, tile or flat metals where a metal blade is unnecessary or otherwise inappropriate. It also makes removing sticker a snap. When used with harsh chemicals, even some household cleaners, we found the material turns milky and softens with ongoing exposure | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
